Actions for Antarctica: Reasons to Care

This motion design project was created in collaboration with SAEF (Securing Antarctica’s Environmental Future). Through animation and augmented reality, it aims to communicate why protecting Antarctica is vital to the future of the planet.

Shaping the Visual Voice

With the palette defined, the next step was translating mood into motion. Colors became cues for emotion, and composition began to serve story. This stage bridges design and narrative — laying the foundation for rhythm, framing, and visual tension across time.

Where
Aesthetic
Meets Emotion

After structuring the narrative through storyboards, I explored how visual style could guide emotion.
From clean vector lines that suggest clarity and science, to hand-rendered textures that feel softer and more human —
each approach shaped a different tone.

To balance scientific data with a sense of warmth and connection,
I leaned toward a crayon-inspired look: gentle in palette, approachable in spirit.

Animating the Balance

As the visuals moved into motion, the challenge became emotional balance. How do you stay playful enough to engage, yet serious enough to matter?

The animation aims to do both — inviting viewers into the lives of Antarctica’s creatures, while slowly revealing the threats to their world.

What Comes Next

Awareness is only the beginning. We invite you to carry this story forward — in thought, in conversation, in action. Because the future of Antarctica depends on the choices we make together.

Working on this project reshaped how I think about storytelling — not just as design, but as dialogue.

I’m grateful for the chance to give voice to Antarctica, and to let empathy drive the pixels.
